Implementation of R&D results in our production – Caffaro

24.09.2024

In August 2024, we implemented the results of the R&D project in our production.
The results of our research and development work contributed to the creation of “self-cooling pulleys” (Self Cooling). They use an innovative geometric and spatial structure of ribs/feathers and a metal core of the hybrid pulley. Thanks to this, we managed to reduce the operating temperature of the bearing.
Reducing the operating temperature of the bearing gives a longer service life of the pulley and the drive belt. This in turn means less frequent replacements and services, which results in lower vehicle operating costs.
Our dual-material pulley combines a metal skeleton with plastic in the hybrid pulley-body. The metal skeleton effectively dissipates heat from the bearing, which increases its service life. The use of plastic reduces the weight of the pulley, which affects the inertia of the drive system, reducing fuel consumption and equipment components.
In addition, thanks to the use of a hybrid pulley, we managed to reduce the amount of metal used.
This contributed to a decrease in the level of waste, which is a benefit for both the environment and the economy.
Reduced raw material losses also mean lower production costs.
Summarizing the results of our research and development work, it should be noted that they contributed to the creation of innovative solutions that not only improve the efficiency and durability of vehicles, but also contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development of the economy.
