Project objective: The objective of the project is to implement a dedicated technology developed by Caffaro as a result of R&D work for the production of rollers and tensioners from multi-ribbed belts of cars and trucks, based on a patent application entitled “Method of manufacturing belt pulley bushing. “Method of manufacturing belt pulley bushing, belt pulley bushing produced by this method and multi-ribbed belt pulley”.
The technology in question relates to an innovative method of manufacturing complete rollers and tensioners using a high-performance proprietary technology developed as part of R&D work carried out by Caffaro’s team of specialists.
The effect of the project will be the application of innovative methods, thanks to which features unparalleled on the market today among competing companies will be achieved.
The planned effects of the project are:
1. reduction of the amount of plastic and metal waste generated
2. elimination of oil consumption in the production process of plastic rolls
3. extension of the life of the rolls (warranty)
4. Revenue in business due to implementation of project results

Project goal: The project envisages R&D work aimed at obtaining product innovation
– significantly more durable idlers, tensioning and guiding pulleys of internal combustion engines’ multiline belts
particularly in vehicles equipped with micro and mild hybrid drives. The innovative pulleys
with significantly longer service life will be made with less material and energy consumption than at present
and will dissipate heat from the bearings in an original way to increase their resistance to stress:
– thermal – radiation from the internal combustion engine and as a result of friction
– mechanical – from belt tension and the instantaneous power of the drive receivers
The new pulley manufacturing technology will allow a significant reduction in plastic, metal and energy consumption. Depending on the application, the new pulleys will be made
in two material technologies:
– from plastic
– in a hybrid version – from a metal skeleton surrounded by composite material for more efficient heat dissipation
The planned effects of the project are:
1. implementation of the conducted R&D results
2. creation of 5 new jobs
3. revenue in business activities due to the implementation of the project results
